Renewing Classical Education, Teacher to Teacher!
For over fifteen years the Alcuin Fellowship has provided intellectual leadership for the classical education movement through hosting national and regional retreats, collaboratively writing books and articles, and financially supporting original scholarship.
The Alcuin Fellowship is not partisan to any one group or type of school but rather seeks to provide intellectual support and resources for all those involved in furthering the development of classical education.
Both in the United States and around the world, the number of classical schools is growing dramatically. As the movement continues to expand numerically, it also should expand deeper into its understanding of the long tradition of classical education that it is seeking to renew in the 21st century. Furthermore, as the movement grows there are an increasing number of teachers within K-12 classical schools who have advanced degrees and who greatly benefit from the academic contexts the Alcuin Fellowship provides for their own intellectual growth.
A number of other organizations currently provide support for the operations and governance of classical schools. The Alcuin fellowship is unique, however, in serving as a think tank where teachers and intellectual leaders from all types of schools can gather together to deepen their understanding of the classical education tradition and collaboratively develop means of implementing that tradition in educational practice.
Through convening conversations around important topics, the Alcuin Fellowship thus provides much-needed thought leadership for the classical education movement and equips educators to better continue developing the tradition of classical education through their own academic work.
By financially contributing to the Alcuin Fellowship, you partner with us in providing this essential leadership that will continue to undergird the growth of classical education across the United States and around the world.
